Late in 1969 Paragon Managing Director, Carl Canty, founded a tool making company in Hull, Paragon Toolmaking Co. Ltd. now the sister company of Paragon Precision Ltd.
In those early years Paragon’s customers were mainly local Hull based organisations. A steady increase in demand saw the company requiring more space and in 1974 it moved to new premises in Harpings Road, Hull followed in 1980 by the purchase of additional premises nearby in National Avenue, Hull.
It soon became apparent that there was serious demand, not only for Paragon’s skills as press tool manufacturers, but also for a dedicated pressed component production facility leading in 1987 to Paragon Pressings, now Paragon Precision Ltd, being established in the Harpings Road site. Offering production pressing facilities, utilising Paragon produced or customer provided tooling, the company soon found itself diversifying into CNC punching and bending followed by further expansion with the addition of laser cutting, robot MIG/TIG welding and the highest quality powder coatings.
Investment in new technology has transformed all areas of operations. Drawing boards have been replaced with CADCAM systems, manufacture benefits from the availability of the best in CNC equipment, enabling lights-out production to continue through the night.
However, even with the best technology, having the right staff is essential to the success of any organisation and Paragon is not an exception to this rule. Many employees have been trained in-house and stayed with the company, some for over twenty years. Their skill and dedication provides a major asset and contribution to the success of the organisation.
The company is able to trade on the quality of product, standard of service and the value added provided to its’ customers, some using Paragon’s services for over twenty five years.
